Recreate a powerful modern military vehicle with historic roots. The Italeri M923 “Hillbilly” Gun Truck model (Kit 6513) captures the U.S. 5-ton cargo truck platform used in recent decades, upgraded for field operations and converted into a gun truck configuration.

• Based on the M-923 class medium cargo truck used by the U.S. military from the early 1980s onward.
• Detailed parts for the truck body, large off-road tires (nick-named “Big Foot”), and weapon-mounted platform variations.

About the Vehicle

The actual M-923 vehicle served as a robust logistics platform and was often adapted into gun truck variants for convoy protection and combat zones. This model allows you to recreate the “Hillbilly” variant with large wheels and field modifications. 

Build & Display Tips

Use a primer coat before painting. Recommended colours include olive drab, battleship grey, or desert sand depending on theatre of operation. For display, add a base with rough terrain or desert setting to highlight the off-road nature of the vehicle. Include weathering effects to show field use.
